HUNTINGTON – A customer at the Barboursville Target alleges she fell while shopping at the store because of a metal bar on the floor.

Carlon White filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Target Corp. citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 3, 2017, she was injured while shopping at defendant's Target store in Barboursville and was caused to fall after stepping on a metal bar that was hidden underneath clothing on the floor.

The plaintiff holds Target Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the premises to discover any unsafe, defective and dangerous conditions and failed to provide a safe place for customers.

The plaintiff seeks general and special damages, interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Adam L. Slone of Saad Dixon Law Offices PLLC in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul T. Farrell.
