Charleston man blames podiatrist for injuries

Medical malpractice 09

CHARLESTON — A Charleston man is suing a podiatrist, alleging negligence in failing to prevent injuries.

Robert J. Person filed a complaint March 5 in Kanawha Circuit Court against podiatrist R. Curtis Arnold, alleging the defendant failed to provide proper medical care when he cut Person's toe.

According to the complaint, Person experienced pain and suffering from gangrene and cellulitis that required surgical intervention. The plaintiff alleges Arnold cut the end of Person's toe while trimming his toenails, causing serious physical injuries.

Person seeks trial by jury, judgment that will compensate the plaintiff for his losses and all further relief the court grants. He is represented by attorney Johnson W. Gabhart of Johnstone & Gabhart LLP in Charleston.
