LOGAN — A Logan County construction business is suing a transport company, alleging breach of contract.

Guyan Service Company filed a complaint March 12 in Logan Circuit Court against KC Transport, Inc., and KC Transport, Inc., doing business as KC Transport of West Virginia Inc., alleging the defendants failed to pay the plaintiff $22,500 for its work.

According to the complaint, in 2016, Guyan Service performed work including providing labor and building materials to the defendant for its shop in Man, West Virginia, but was not fully paid for those services.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants have failed and refused to pay Guyan $22,500 despite its demands and even after several notices.

Guyan Service seeks trial by jury, judgment of $22,500 plus interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by attorneys Steven L. Thomas and Laura A. Hoffman of Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC in Charleston.
