WHEELING — An Ohio man is suing a Wheeling Island casino, alleging negligence led to the plaintiff suffering burns.

Todd Rock of Zanesville, Ohio, filed a complaint March 14 in Ohio Circuit Court against Wheeling Island Gaming Inc., doing business as Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack, alleging failure to keep the premises reasonably safe.

According to the complaint, on March 15, 2016, Rock was getting food at the defendant's buffet table when he sustained burn injuries from grabbing a hot serving utensil. The plaintiff alleges Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack failed to warn Rock regarding the danger of the hot serving utensils in the buffet line.

Rock seeks judgment that exceeds the minimum jurisdictional limits of this court, compensatory damages, court costs, attorney fees and all further relief the court grants. He is represented by attorney David M. Dawson of Dawson Law Office, PLLC in Wheeling.
