WINFIELD — A Putnam County woman is suing an auto sales debt collector, alleging misrepresentation in debt collection and violation of state law.

Stephanie White filed a complaint March 14 in Putnam Circuit Court against Priced-Rite Auto Sales, alleging the defendant threatened the plaintiff in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.

According to the complaint, White was threatened if she failed to make payments regarding a $5,494 deal for a used 1999 Cadillac. The suit says White already has paid $1,500 and has returned the vehicle to Priced-Rite. The plaintiff alleges Priced-Rite Auto Sales has threatened White with charges should she fail to pay them.

White seeks trial by jury, actual damages, statutory damages, court costs, general damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by attorneys Brian R. Blickenstaff of Turner & John PLLC in Charleston, and by Robin Godfrey of Charleston.
