Store manager accuses 7-Eleven of wrongful discharge

Wrongful term 02

CHARLESTON — A Boone County woman is suing 7-Eleven, alleging discrimination, a hostile work environment and wrongful discharge.

Cindy L. Daggs filed a complaint March 15 in Kanawha Circuit Court against 7-Eleven Inc. and Sandra Hart, alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, Daggs began working for 7-Eleven as a store manager in September 2013. The suit alleges on Sept. 21, 2017, Daggs was wrongfully discharged from her employment in favor of a male employee. As a result, the suit says, she has suffered lost wages and benefits, emotional distress, mental anguish, embarrassment and humiliation.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants wrongfully discharged her for reporting gender-based sexual harassment by her co-employees to upper management and then replaced her with a male employee.

Daggs seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney John Einreinhofer of Law Offices of John Einreinhofer in Charleston.
