Grafton fire chief alleges unlawful termination

GRAFTON — The former fire chief is suing Grafton, alleging unlawful termination.

David Crimm filed a complaint April 24 in Taylor Circuit Court against the city of Grafton, alleging violation of the West Virginia Code.

According to the complaint, on March 14, 2016, Crimm was summarily terminated as both chief and a full-time member of the Grafton Fire Department without a pre-disciplinary hearing. The plaintiff alleges Grafton failed to provide due process.

Crimm seeks trial by, reinstatement to his position with full back pay and benefits, legal fees and all other further relief. He is represented by attorney Mark McMilliam of Charleston.
