CLARKSBURG — A Texas energy company is suing an oil and natural gas business, alleging breach of contract.

Recon H3 LLC filed a complaint May 11 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia Clarksburg Division against Antero Resources Corporation alleging failure to pay production royalties.

According to the complaint, Recon H3 has suffered monetary injury as a result of Antero breaching the lease contract by failing to pay production royalties to the plaintiff for natural gas produced and sold from its drilling units on plaintiff's properties since Jan. 29

The plaintiff alleges Antero Resources breached its duty to pay production royalties under the lease agreement, and obligated Recon HJ3 to retain and pay for the services of an attorney.

Recon H3 seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages in excess of $75,000, plus interest, costs of suit, and all other remedies the court deems right and just. It is represented by attorney James A. Walls of Spilman Thomas & Battle PLLC in Morgantown.
