Charleston couple accuses Experian of defamation

Lawsuits

CHARLESTON — A Charleston couple is suing Experian Information Solutions and other defendants, alleging defamation.

Donald Cobb and Deborah Cobb filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Trans Union LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc., Synchrony Bank, et al, alleging violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, as a result of the defendants' conduct, Donald Cobb and Deborah Cobb have suffered lost credit, economic damages, mental anguish, humiliation and embarrassment from credit denials. 

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to ensure accuracy of their credit reports and failed to delete inaccurate information from the plaintiffs' credit file.

The Cobbs seek trial by jury, actual and statutory damages, litigation costs and expenses and all other just and appropriate relief. They are represented by attorney Travis A. Griffith of The Griffith Law Center PLLC in Charleston.
