HUNTINGTON — Gieco is suing Huntington, alleging negligent entrustment in a dump truck collision.

Geico General Insurance Company, assignee of Katherine Brenner Winn, filed a complaint June 21 in Cabell Circuit Court against the city of Huntington, alleging the city's employee/driver, Paul Morrison, failed to exercise due care in operating a dump truck.

According to the complaint, on May 23, 2016, Winn's automobile was struck by a city of Huntington dump truck on Interstate Highway 64 in Huntington. As a result of the collision, Geico said it incurred damages of $8,529.57.

The plaintiff alleges Morrison, the city employee/driver, negligently operated the dump truck and caused it to collide with Winn's vehicle.

Geico General Insurance seeks trial by jury, judgment against the defendant of $8,529.57, plus interest and court costs. It is represented by attorney Steven M. Recht of Recht Law Offices in Weirton.
