CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County woman is suing a South Charleston commercial real estate business, alleging negligence premises liability in her fall over an iron stake.

Kathleen Kiesel filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Ridge Line Inc. alleging the defendant allowed a hazardous condition to remain on its South Charleston property that was latent, hidden, and not open or obvious the public, causing injuries.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 29, 2016, Kiesel was leaving her place of work at IBEX Global and walking toward the parking lot on Ridge Line property when she tripped and fell over an iron stake hidden in the grass.

As a result, Kiesel says she sustained serious bodily injuries and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Ridge Line failed to warn of the hazardous condition and failed to reasonably maintain the property in a safe condition.

Kiesel seeks trial by jury, pre- and post-judgment interest, all damages, attorney fees, court costs and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Kathleen Kiesel of Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner LLP in Charleston.
