FAYETTEVILLE – A Fayette County business alleges its insurer wrongfully denied parts of its claim for a covered loss.

Passages To Adventure Inc. filed a complaint in Fayette Circuit Court against Hartford Fire Insurance Corp. alleging breach of insurance contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 24, 2008, its insured property in Fayette County suffered a covered loss. Although a portion of the claim was paid, the suit states the defendant refused to resolve the remaining parts of the claim to date, including damages to contents and inventory.

The plaintiff holds Hartford Fire Insurance Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly breached contract of insurance with its denial to pay the remaining parts of plaintiff's claim.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant, for the court to find that the policy at issue applies to the remaining claims of plaintiff, that the defendant breached the terms of the policy and award all damages. It is represented by Greg A. Hewitt of Hewitt & Salvatore PLLC in Fayetteville.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John W. Hatcher.
