LOGAN – An Ohio company is suing a Wilkinson body shop, alleging failure to pay more than $8,000 for goods it purchased.

UCI Midwest of Dayton, Ohio, filed a complaint in Logan Circuit Court against Adkins Speed Shop LLC, trading as Logan Body Shop, and Michael Adkins, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, on May 23, 2016, UCI Midwest received a credit application from Logan Body Shop, seeking to secure and/or maintain the ability to purchase goods and materials on credit. The suit states Adkins was the secured guaranty on the credit application.

However, despite performing its duties under the contract, UCI Midwest allegedly failed to receive full payments for the goods delivered amounting to $8,089.25.

UCI Midwest seeks judgment for $8,089.25, plus the continually accruing interest charge at the agreed rate of 18 percent per annum from Dec. 10, 2017, attorney fees of $1,966.52, costs of suit and all other just relief. It is represented by attorney John R. Keating of Amato Keating and Lessa PC in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Eric H. O'Briant.
