LOGAN – An Ohio woman alleges her decedent died of an undiagnosed gastrointestinal bleed.
Jennifer Gullett, executrix of the estate of Conrad Adams, filed a complaint in Logan Circuit Court against Kathy Harvey, D.O.; and Apogee Medical Group, West Virginia PLLC alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on July 15, 2016, Adams presented to Logan Regional Medical Center with complaints of shortness of breath. The suit states Harvey discharged him July 24, 2016, with a diagnosis of respiratory failure secondary to pneumonia. The following day, he was transported to Logan Regional Medical Center via ambulance and died shortly after arriving at LRMC at the age of 61.
The plaintiff holds Harvey and Apogee Medical Group, West Virginia PLLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to appreciate and diagnose decedent's gastrointestinal bleed.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks economic and non-economic damages, taxable costs and interest. She is represented by Ben Salango of Preston & Salango PLLC in Charleston.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joshua Butcher.
