HUNTINGTON — A Mingo County man is suing Target, alleging negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Chris Wade Riddle filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Target Corporation, doing business as Target Barboursville Store No. 1478, alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on June 24, 2016, Riddle was on Target property in Huntington when he was caused to slip and fall from a large puddle of clear liquid on the floor of defendant's store No. 1478. As a result of Target's negligence in the maintenance of its premises, the suit says, Riddle suffered injuries including pain, anguish, disability, loss of earnings, aggravation of a previous existing condition, and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Target Barboursville Store No. 1478 failed to warn Riddle of the known dangerous condition on the property..

Riddle seeks trial by jury, judgment in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limit plus interest and costs. He is represented by attorney R. Matthew Vital of Vital & Vital LC in Huntington.
