PRINCETON — Two Lindside customers are suing Ford, alleging breach of warranty.
Allen Hunt and Crystal Hunt filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against Ford Motor Company alleging the defendant obtained profit through distribution of a substandard product.
According to the complaint, on May 2, 2016, the Hunts purchased a new 2016 Ford Explorer from Mountaineer Automotive in Beckley for $58,020.96. The suit says the Hunts subsequently have suffered damages from the loss of use of the vehicle, and annoyance and inconvenience as a result of purchasing a defective Ford Explorer. The lawsuit states the vehicle repeatedly was returned for service for the same defects of the electrical system and drivetrain.
The plaintiffs allege Ford Motor has failed to fully repair the Ford Explorer, failed to provide a replacement or refund the Hunts' money and impaired the use, value and/or safety of the vehicle.
The Hunts seek trial by jury, incidental and consequential damages of at least $10,000, court costs, attorney fees and all further available relief. They are represented by attorney William O. Huffman of Princeton.
