NEW CUMBERLAND — A Weirton man is suing Dollar General, alleging negligence led to the plaintiff sustaining injuries.

Jefferson D. Wilson filed a complaint in Hancock Circuit Court against Dolgencorp LLC, doing business as Dollar General Store 8102, alleging the discount retail store operator failed to provide a safe environment.

According to the complaint, on July 27, 2017, Wilson was walking through the entrance at the Dollar General Store 8102 in New Cumberland when he was caused to fall due to an uneven threshold. Wilson says he suffered severe and disabling injuries and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Dollar General Store 8102 failed to inspect the entrance of the store for any dangerous or hazardous conditions, failed to correct the same and failed to give adequate warning of the existing danger.

Wilson seeks trial by jury, plus damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, with interest, court costs and all other proper and just relief. He is represented by attorney Kevin Pearl of Frankovitch, Anetakis, Simon, Decapio & Pearl LLP in Weirton.
