CHARLESTON — A Pax woman is suing a Charleston hospital operator, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Alice G. Maynor filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Charleston Area Medical Center Inc., alleging failure to maintain its premises in a clean, orderly and safe manner.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2016, Maynor was visiting a relative at Charleton Area Medical when she slipped and fell on a wet substance on the floor. She says she suffered severe injuries to her right foot and incurred medical expenses in excess of $3,590.

The plaintiff alleges Charleston Area Medical Center negligently allowed the wet substance to accumulate and remain on the floor for a prolonged period of time.

Maynor seeks trial by jury, special and general damages, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorneys Kevin B. Burgess and Christopher B. Frost of Hamilton, Burgess, Young & Pollard PLLC in Fayetteville.
