CHARLESTON — Dinsmore & Shohl has been named one of BTI Consulting Group's top recommended law firms.
BTI released the results of its top recommended law firms report at the beginning of August. The report is based on telephone interviews with 350 leading legal decision-makers for large organizations with at least $1 billion in revenue.
There were only 94 firms on the list and BTI does not accept submissions for the report.
"Being a top recommended law firm doesn’t just happen," Dinsmore's Charleston office's managing partner Anna Dailey said in an interview with The West Virginia Record. "Several years ago Dinsmore polled many of its business clients, including companies operating in West Virginia to learn what we do right and how we could improve."
Dailey said this information was shared among Dinsmore's lawyers and the firm made client satisfaction a top priority.
"It is an honor to be named among the top recommended law firms and our goal remains: to make client satisfaction a top priority," Dailey said.
Denise Pentino, Dinsmore's Wheeling office managing partner said the firm has always tried to be more than just attorneys for their clients.
"Understanding both the day-to-day and big-picture needs of our clients has created strong relationships and helped us achieve their goals," Pentino said in an interview with The West Virginia Record. "Our objective has always been to bring more than just legal expertise to the table, but rather a team mentality to support our clients."
BTI says its research indicated superior client service is one of the leading drivers of recommendations by general counsel.
In its report, BTI said a law firm’s recommendation rate is "one of the most powerful indicators of future growth potential and sustainable business development."
Five firms were named most recommended by corporate counsel in the nation: Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld; Gibson Dunn; Jones Day; Latham & Watkins; and Skadden.
There were also 10 law firms noted as highly recommended, 13 frequently recommended, and 66 that were recommended, including Dinsmore.
