PRINCETON — A daughter is suing a Princeton nursing home, alleging negligent supervision led to the death of her father.
Teresa Dye of Mercer County, as personal representative of the estate of Dewey Spears, deceased, filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against Princeton Center LLD, doing business as Glenwood Park, and Stonerise Healthcare LLC, alleging the defendants breached its lawful mandated duty to provide Spears with his nursing home resident's rights.
According to the complaint, on April 4, 2017, Spears was admitted at the Glenwood Park nursing facility for rehabilitation and assistance with his activities of daily living.
Dye alleges during Spears' residency, he failed to receive adequate supervision, causing him to sustain numerous falls resulting in a scalp hematoma, right foot pain, and a right femoral neck fracture.
As a result, the suit says, Spears was deprived of adequate and appropriate health, causing pain and suffering and ultimately his death.
The plaintiff alleges Glenwood Park and Stonerise Healthcare LLC failed to care for Spears in a manner so as to promote the maintenance and enhancement of his quality of life.
Dye seeks trial by jury, damages allowable under West Virginia Law, plus attorney fees, punitive damages as well as all other fit relief. She is represented by attorneys Jeff D. Steward, Andrew L. Paternostro and S. Andrew Stonestreet of Stewart | Bell PLLC in Charleston.
