BECKLEY — A former employee is suing New River Community and Technical College, citing alleged violation of the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act (WPCA).
Edward Omolo filed a complaint in Raleigh Circuit Court against New River Community and Technical College, alleging the school breached its duty of good faith and fair dealings.
The plaintiff alleges that, on May 15, 2017, he sustained emotional distress and monetary loss, as a result of the unlawful conduct of the defendant in terminating his employment but failing to pay plaintiff at the rate for assistant professor after his academic promotion on August 11, 2015.
The plaintiff holds New River Community and Technical College responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the difference of his salary after promotion at the time of his termination,.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for all past due pay, statutory penalty, attorney's fees, and all other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Larry O. Ford of Meyer, Ford & Glasses PLLC in Charleston.
