CHARLESTON — A Charleston woman is suing Wal-Mart, alleging negligence caused her to fall at the defendant's Nitro store.

Melisa Truslow filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores East LP, alleging the defendant negligently maintained its Nitro store in an unsafe and dangerous condition.

According to the complaint, on July 8, 2016, Truslow was injured at the defendant's Wal-Mart store in Nitro when she slipped and fell on a liquid substance on the floor. Truslow says she was severely injured in and about her body, resulting in medical expenses, great pain, impairment and disabilities.

The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart Stores East failed to clean up water on the floor and failed to give warning of the existing danger posed by the slippery floor.

Truslow seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest and court costs. She is represented by attorney Clayton G. Anderson of The Masters Law Firm LC in Charleston.
