CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County couple is suing a podiatrist, alleging negligence led to pain and suffering for the husband.
Jim Nance and Keli Nance filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against podiatrist Carrie P. Gosselink, alleging she negligently deviated from the appropriate standard of medical care.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 5, 2016, Jim Nance underwent right ankle/foot surgery performed by Gosselink. As a result of the defendant's negligence, the suit says, Nance remained in extreme pain and had to undergo two corrective surgeries.
The lawsuit states Nance further suffered permanent and debilitating injury. The plaintiffs allege Gosselink negligently performed unnecessary, inappropriate and improper surgery procedures and treatment.
The Nances seek trial by jury, judgment that will adequately compensate them for their damages and all other proper relief. They are represented by attorneys Robert B. Berthold Jr. and Holly G. DiCocco of Berthold Law Firm PLLC in Charleston.
