CHARLESTON — A South Charleston woman is suing a Charleston medical center, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.
Christie Wright filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Charleston Area Medical Center Inc., alleging the medical facility allowed a larger pool of water to remain on the premises, causing a slipping hazard to the public.
According to the complaint, on July 23, 2016, Wright was at Charleston Area Medical Center when she slipped and fell due to a pool of water in front of the elevator. As a result, Wright says, she sustained physical injuries that require medical attention.
The plaintiff alleges Charleston Area Medical Center failed to correct the dangerous condition in the area outside the elevators and failed to warn the public about the slippery floor.
Wright seeks trial by jury, damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, statutory attorney fees, court costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Clinton W. Smith of Charleston.
