Kanawha County sheriff alleges Cross Lanes business owes $35,000

CHARLESTON — The Kanawha County sheriff is suing a Charleston business, alleging more than $35,000 in unpaid taxes.

Michael Y. Rutherford, as sheriff and ex offcio treasurer of Kanawha County, filed a complaint July 10 in Kanawha Circuit Court against PF Charleston - Cross Lanes WV LLC, alleging being delinquent in tax payments.

According to the complaint, PF Charleston is indebted to plaintiff for the payment of taxes and fees on its property for tax year 2017 in the amount of $35,558.11. The plaintiff alleges the defendant has failed to pay the aforesaid liability taxes.

Rutherford seeks trial by jury, judgment of $35,558.11, plus post-judgment interest, costs and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorney Spencer D. Elliott of Lewis Glasser PLLC in Charleston.
