WHEELING – A Valley Grove man alleges debris on the road left by the trucks of a natural gas exploration and production company caused him to lose control of his motorcycle.
Casey P. Young filed a complaint in Ohio Circuit Court against SWN Energy Services Co. LLC alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 24, 2016, the plaintiff was traveling westbound on National Road in Triadelphia on his motorcycle when he navigated a curve in the roadway and slid due to a wet mixture of water, mud, rocks and other debris on the road caused by the defendant's trucks entering and existing the same roadway. He alleges he lost control of his Harley Davidson and his body was scraped along the asphalt and into a grassy area.
The plaintiff holds SWN Energy Services Co. LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the roadways leading into its staging area and created the dangerous condition by causing and permitted mud and other debris to accumulate on the road.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount to be determined by a jury, together with attorney fees, costs and for such further relief as the court or a jury should find deemed appropriate. He is represented by Teena Y. Miller of Gold, Khourey & Turak, LC in Moundsville.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David J. Sims
