Guest sues Bridgeport Wingate Hotel after slip-and-fall accident

CLARKSBURG — A guest is suing CPH Development Co., a hotel operator, for alleged negligence and premises liability after a slip-and-fall accident at the Bridgeport Wingate Hotel.

Debra Davis filed a complaint in Harrison Circuit Court, against CPH Development Co., alleging that the hotel operator breached its duty to protect guests from dangerous conditions.

The plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 14, she was at the Bridgeport Wingate Hotel when she slipped on ice and fell, striking her head on the icy pavement. She allegedly sustained injuries had medical expenses, and lost income due to missing work. 

The plaintiff holds CPH Development responsible because the defendant allegedly let ice accumulate on the pavement without warning guests or trying to remove it

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and general damages, with interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other and further relief. She is represented by Edmund L. Wagoner and David E. Goddard of Goddard & Wagoner PLLC in Clarksburg.
