Conservator alleges medical center caused patient to suffer pressure sores

PRINCETON — A Mercer County man is suing a medical center, alleging negligence.

Drexel Scott, conservator for Judy Symns, filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against Princeton Community Hospital Association Inc. and Springfield Center LLC, alleging the defendants deviated from the applicable standards of care and were negligent in caring for Symns.

According to the complaint, while a paying patient at Princeton Community Hospital, Symns, who has been declared medically incompetent, suffered pressure sore wound and a stage III decubitus ulcer on her coccyx. 

As a direct proximate result, Scott alleges Symns suffered mental pain, severe emotional distress and has incurred medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants are guilty of negligent treatment and care of Symns' ongoing health problems, causing further injuries.

Scott seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of the court's jurisdictional amount, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Charles M. Love, IV of The Love Law Firm PLLC in Charleston.
