WHEELING — A Pennsylvania couple is suing commercial vehicle operators, alleging negligence caused a crash.

Richard Adasiak and Donna Adasiak of Washington, Pennsylvania, filed a complaint in Ohio Circuit Court against Rickie Samuel and Market Trucking LLC, alleging Market failed to conduct a pre-trip inspection of the vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 29, 2016, Richard Adasiak was injured in a vehicle collision when the defendants' freightliner truck, being driven by Samuel, crossed the grassy median lane on Interstate Highway 70 in Ohio County and collided with other vehicles including the plaintiff's 21015 Ford pickup.

The suit says Adasiak sustained injuries to his neck, bilateral shoulder, back, chest, ankle and hip. Donna Adasiak says she suffered loss of care, society and companionship of her husband.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants negligently allowed the freightliner to travel with insufficient tread depth on the tires and/or excessive wear and failed to stop the vehicle to avoid the collision.

The Adasiaks seek trial by jury, all damages, with interest and costs. They are represented by attorney Joseph H. Cox of Washington, Pennsylvania.
