PRINCETON — A Mercer County woman is suing Big Lots Stores, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Barbara Turner filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against Big Lots Stores Inc. and Joel Management Corporation, alleging violation of buildings and architectural safety standards.

According to the complaint, Oct. 1, 2016, Turner, 70 at the time, had parked at a Big Lots in Princeton when she stepped on the tapered edge of the depressed curb on the sidewalk and fell. Turner says suffered severe and debilitating injuries, which resulted in great pain, mental anguish, emotional distress, disability and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently created a trip hazard in the parking lot and failed to alert customers of such a hazard.

Turner seeks trial by jury, all damages, with interest, attorney fees, costs and expenses and all other just and appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Ryan J. Flanigan of The Flanigan Law Office in Princeton.
