CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County motorist is suing a truck owner and driver, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Sandra Abbott filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against James Allen Held and Trans Am Trucking, alleging the defendants entrusted and operated a tractor trailer in careless manner, resulting in a collision.

According to the complaint, while driving through South Charleston on Interstate Highway 64, Abbott's 2000 Toyota Camry was struck by the Trans Am Trucking tractor trailer when Held negligently changed lanes, causing the collision.

As a result, Abbott says she sustained physical injuries, inconvenience and medical expenses.

Abbott seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages, plus interest, court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney G. Patrick Jacobs of Law Office of G. Patrick Jacobs in Charleston.
