HUNTINGTON — A patient is suing a physician and a Cabell County hospital, alleging medical negligence.

Brandon Conrad filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Dr. Blaine Nease and Cabell Huntington Hospital, alleging the defendants failed to properly operate on the plaintiff, resulting in extreme pain.

According to the complaint, between Oct. 7, 2016- Jan. 18, 2017, Conrad was a patient at Cabell Huntington Hospital facility due to several complications on his sleeve gastrectomy.

Nease

Conrad says during his time there, he suffered severe abdominal pain and underwent numerous surgeries that resulted in his sleeve gastrectomy, causing a leak. In November 2018, the suit says, Conrad was readmitted because an abscess around his spleen had returned and was getting bigger.

Conrad alleges he had more than 23 CAT scans in less than a year, causing his immune system to be compromised from radiation. As a result, Conrad says he lives in constant pain, with no energy and weakness and dizziness.

The plaintiff alleges Nease and Cabell Huntington Hospital failed to provide proper a diagnosis of Conrad's condition that resulted in numerous tests that further affected his condition.

Conrad seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages and all other just relief. He is representing himself.
