GRAFTON — A daughter is suing a Taylor County hospital, alleging corporate negligence and wrongful death in the death of the plaintiff's mother.

Dorothy G. Ours, as administrator of the estate of Ann J. M. Ours, deceased, filed a complaint in Taylor Circuit Court against Grafton City Hospital, alleging failure to provide adequate precautions to prevent the decedent from falling.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 25, 2016, Ann Ours was admitted at Grafton City Hospital due to weakness and other medical problems. As a result of defendant's negligent acts, the suit says, Ours sustained a fall and was diagnosed with subdural hematoma. She died Nov. 7, 2016, allegedly due to a ground-level fall.

The plaintiff alleges Grafton City Hospital failed to provide timely treatment related to subdural hematoma and failed to timely notify Ann Ours' physician of her fall.

Dorothy Ours seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages, interest, costs, attorney fees and all other appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Peter D. Giglione of Massa Butler Giglione in Pittsburgh.
