MOUNDSVILLE — A Moundsville couple is suing a natural gas processing facility operator, alleging negligence.

Harold S. Young and Charlene S. Young filed a complaint in Marshall Circuit Court against Williams Ohio Valley Midstream LLC, alleging the defendant negligently operated its Oak Grove natural gas processing facility in close proximity to the plaintiffs' property in the Clay District of Marshall County.

According to the complaint, due to the defendant's negligence, the Youngs suffered diminution in their property value because of the continued and frequent smell of fumes and odors, making it unbearable for them to be outside their residence.

The suit says the Youngs also suffered annoyance, inconvenience, mental anguish and anxiety. The plaintiffs allege Williams Ohio Valley Midstream caused air pollution, dust, dirt and debris to travel onto the Youngs' property and caused a bright light to enter the plaintiffs' home throughout day and night.

The Youngs seek trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees, costs, interest and all other proper and just relief. They are represented by attorneys James G. Bordas Jr. and Jeremy M. McGraw of Bordas & Bordas PLLC in Wheeling.
