Couple claims McDonald's operators' negligence caused injuries to wife

PINEVILLE — A Wyoming County couple is suing a McDonald's restaurant operator, alleging negligence and premises liability led to injuries to the wife.

Michelle Shepherd and Lany Shepherd filed a complaint in Wyoming Circuit Court against TSJ Foods LLC, alleging failure to provide a premises that was reasonably safe for use by patrons.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 4, 2016, Michelle Shepherd was severely injured in the women's restroom of the restaurant chain's Oceana location when she slipped and violently fell on an unknown liquid substance on the floor. 

Lany Shepherd alleges he suffered the loss of love, services and society of her wife. The plaintiffs allege TSJ Foods failed to timely clean the liquid substance on the floor and failed to give adequate warning of the dangerous condition of the floor.

the Shepherds seek trial by jury, all damages, plus interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other just and proper relief. They are represented by attorney Sara E. Zeigler of Kaufman & McPherson PLLC in Bridgeport.
