HUNTINGTON — A mother is suing a dance studio owner, citing alleged negligence.

Heather Blankenship, individually and as next friend and mother of Molly Blankenship, an infant, filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Bridget's Dance Academy LLC alleging the dance studio owner failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 2, 2017, Molly Blankenship was attending dance class at defendant's premises when a wall mirror fell on her and broke. She sustained serious and permanent injuries resulting in medical expenses, severe pain and mental distress. The plaintiff holds Bridget's Dance Academy LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep the mounted wall mirror in a reasonably safe condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages in a fair and reasonable amount, costs and interest. She is represented by Bert Ketchum and Clayton J. Maddox of Greene Ketchum Farrell Bailey and Tweel LLP in Huntington.
