PRINCETON — A patient is suing health care providers, citing alleged negligence.

Jessica Jones filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against Community Health Systems Inc. and Dr. Lori Tucker alleging that they breached the medical standard of care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 18, 2016, Tucker performed an ovarian drilling procedure on Jones. As a result of Tucker's negligence, Jones's various organs developed stage 3 cancer and she has incurred six chemotherapy treatments and numerous surgeries to remove all cancers. She has lost the ability to become pregnant. The plaintiff holds Community Health Systems Inc. and Tucker responsible because they allegedly did not confer with her regarding the medical options with respect to a growth on her right ovary, and they failed to remove her entire ovary.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages against all defendants. She is represented by James J. Palmer III of The Palmer Law Firm in Bluefield.
