CHARLESTON — A Charleston resident is suing lenders, citing alleged misrepresentation of the value of her home.

Robin Roe filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Citimortgage, Inc. and Citicorp Home Mortgage Services, Inc., alleging that they misrepresented the amount of a loan extended to her, which exceeded the fair market value of her home.

According to the complaint, Roe alleges that she has suffered stress, annoyance, inconvenience and fear of losing her lifelong residence. She holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly continued to collect on the account despite receiving credit through the National Mortgage Settlement, failed to release the lien and failed to issue a refund for payments made.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages and appropriate penalties, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief deemed just and proper. She is represented by Sarah K. Brown, Bren J. Pomponio and Daniel F. Hedges of Mountain State Justice Inc. in Charleston.
