BECKLEY — A man is suing a healthcare provider, citing alleged negligence.

Tony Reese filed a complaint in Raleigh Circuit Court against Appalachian Regional Healthcare Inc., et al. alleging that they breached their duty to maintain a safe walking surface.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 29, 2016, while exiting a wheelchair that did not fit through a restroom door, he slipped on a wet floor and fell, striking his head and shoulders. He has endured pain and suffering, and has incurred medical expenses. Reese holds Appalachian Regional Healthcare Inc., et al responsible because they allegedly failed to build a restroom door wide enough for a wheelchair to fit through it and failed to properly maintain the floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, with interest, costs and all other relief that is just and proper. He is represented by Kevin P. Davis of Kevin P. Davis, Attorney at Law in Charleston.
