BECKLEY — An estate administrator is suing a health care provider, citing alleged negligence.
The estate of Virginia Newman by Vickie Wheeler, administrator, filed a complaint in Raleigh Circuit Court against Riparian Investments LLC d/b/a Harper Mills LLC alleging it negligently deviated from the applicable standard of care in treating Newman.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Newman suffered severe dehydration, three decubitus ulcers with one becoming infected with MRSA and e.coli, physical and mental pain, and medical expenses while under the defendant's care. The estate holds Riparian Investments LLC d/b/a Harper Mills LLC responsible because it allegedly failed to provide adequate care and treatment, and failed to properly recognize and remedy the decedent's wounds.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, with interest, costs and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Charles M. Love IV of The Love Law Firm PLLC in Charleston.
