CHARLESTON — A business patron is suing a supermarket corporation citing alleged negligence and premises liability.
Denise Hall filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Kroger Limited Partnership alleging that the Ohio corporation failed to maintain its store premises in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, Hall alleges that on June 6, 2018, she was shopping at a Kroger store on Delaware Avenue when she slipped on a wet floor. She sustained injuries to her leg and knee and was caused to suffer annoyance, inconvenience and loss of enjoyment of life.
The plaintiff holds Kroger Limited Partnership responsible because it allegedly failed to take reasonable precautions to prevent shoppers from walking in the area of the spill.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount that does not exceed $75,000. She is represented by Paul M. Stroebel of Stroebel & Johnson PLLC in Charleston.
