Bowles Rice LLP issued the following announcement on Jan. 25.
Bowles Rice partners David A. DeJarnett and Ellen Maxwell-Hoffman have been elected to serve on the law firm’s Executive Committee for four-year terms.
Managing Partner Tom Heywood, who chairs the seven-person Executive Committee, said DeJarnett and Maxwell-Hoffman were nominated to serve and formally elected at the firm’s partner meeting on Friday, January 25. The Executive Committee oversees the operation of the firm and makes policy and other significant decisions.
“We look forward to the service of both David and Ellen over the next four years,” Heywood said. “Both have served on the Executive Committee in the past, and did so with distinction. Their institutional knowledge, experience, commitment to the success of our firm, and strategic vision make them ideal choices for these important leadership roles.”
DeJarnett, who practices in the firm’s Martinsburg, West Virginia office, is the leader of the Bowles Rice Tax Team. He focuses his work in the area of private client services, with a concentration in estate and trust planning, estate and trust administration, business and tax planning and tax controversies. He earned his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law.
Maxwell-Hoffman concentrates her practice in the areas of general corporate and commercial law, including acquisitions and finance, corporate governance and ethics, and economic development. Based in Charleston, she also frequently provides legal counsel regarding federal and state election laws. She earned her law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law.
