CHARLESTON — A woman is suing a drug store, citing alleged negligence and premises liability.

Karen Parker filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Discount Emporium Inc. d/b/a Drug Emporium alleging that it failed to make sure that its parking lot was safe for the public.

According to the complaint, Parker alleges that on Dec. 23, 2018, she was walking in the Drug Emporium's parking lot when she tripped and fell due to a defective condition. She sustained severe and permanent injury to her face, nose, neck and vision.

The plaintiff holds Discount Emporium Inc. d/b/a Drug Emporium responsible because it allegedly breached its duty to maintain the parking lot in a state of good repair.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that will fully and fairly compensate her for her damages, with interest, costs and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Kevin P. Davis of Charleston.
