Car accident 14

CHARLESTON — A motorist is suing an employer and its employee, citing alleged negligence.

Tammy Hackney filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Autozone Parts and Robert L. Burdette, alleging that Burdette failed to maintain control of Autozone's vehicle.

According to the complaint, Hackney alleges that on Dec. 27, 2016, she was lawfully operating her motor vehicle traveling south on Greenbrier Street near its intersection with Brook Hill Drive in Charleston when she hit the defendants' vehicle. She received serious injuries resulting in great pain of body and mind, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses that will continue.

The plaintiff holds Autozone Parts and Robert L. Burdette responsible because Burdette allegedly negligently made an improper turn in complete disregard to her right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, jointly and severally, for compensatory damages, with interest and costs. She is represented by Shannon M. Bland of Bland & Bland Attorneys at Law in Charleston.
