MORGANTOWN — A vehicle owner is suing a pair of auto repair shops that he has accused of breach of duty and theft.
Michael Allen filed a complaint against Custom Concepts Upholstery Shop, LLC, Aaron Hoard and Reger's Automotive, c/o Steve Reger, in the Monongalia Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants breached their contractual obligations to perform certain restoration work on the plaintiff's vehicle by taking some parts of the vehicle without consent. According to the lawsuit, Allen entered into a contract agreement with the defendants to perform upholstery work on his 1951 Chevrolet 3100 pickup. The plaintiff claims he has paid in excess of $18,000 to the defendants in order to complete the project.
However, Allen alleges that the defendants took certain parts from his pickup truck, held those items hostage and performed electrical work on the vehicle in an improper manner that necessitated it be redone and repaired by a qualified mechanic. As a result, the plaintiff claims he lost substantial money because of the loss of the vehicle, loss of the sale of the vehicle, and damages to it.
Allen requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages for an amount to be determined, and for all other further relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by Mark A. Kepple of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC in Wheeling.
