Woman seeks damages following auto accident in South Charleston

CHARLESTON — A woman is seeking damages, claiming she was rear-ended by a negligent driver.

Jennifer D. Hughes filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Horace Mann Insurance Co. and/or Horace Mann Property & Casualty Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 20, 2017, the plaintiff was driving a Jeep on Jefferson Road in South Charleston. The suit states the defendant was also driving northbound on the same road and the defendant struck the plaintiff's vehicle at a traffic signal, causing damages to the plaintiff's vehicle and body.

The defendant is accused of negligence and reckless driving.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert Campbell of Farmer, Cline & Campbell in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Jennifer Bailey

Kanahwa Circuit Court case number 19-C-96.
