Nursing home workers accused of negligence

WINFIELD — A man is seeking damages after he alleges a relative was injured at a health care center due to negligence.

Jeffrey A. Wolf, who holds durable power of attorney for Kermit C. Wolf, filed a complaint in Putnam Circuit Court against 590 North Poplar Fork Road Operations LLC d/b/a Teays Valley Center and Genesis Healthcare LLC.

According to the complaint, on April 8, 2015, Kermit C. Wolf was admitted to Teays Valley Center. The suit states that he was injured and not provided with a safe environment due to the negligence of the defendants, which resulted in his suffering a femoral neck fracture.

The defendants are accused of negligence and statutory violations as well as reckless misconduct.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by Jeff D. Stewart of Stewart Bell PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Joseph Reeder.
