CHARLESTON — A woman is seeking damages after being involved in a car accident with a school bus.
Jeannine A. Morris filed a complaint in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia against Mingo County Board of Education.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 19, 2017, when the plaintiff was operating her vehicle in Delbarton. The suit alleges the defendant, who was driving a school bus, attempted to merge onto U.S. Route 119 and failed to yield, striking the plaintiff's vehicle.
The defendant is accused of negligence and reckless driving.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Duane Ruggier II.
The case has been removed to federal court, where it was assigned to Judge Thomas Johnston.
