HUNTINGTON — A woman is seeking damages after she claims she was not given the severance package she was told she would receive.

Jeni Leigh Copodonna filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against West Virginia Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority, Western Regional Jail and April Darnell.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that began on Sept. 20, 2016, when the plaintiff was suspended and on Oct. 6, 2018, when the plaitiff was terminated. The suit states the plaintiff filed a grievance for the termination and a hearing was set for Feb. 3, 2017. The plaintiff claims she was told that if she resigned, she would receive backpay and severance. The plaintiff has allegedly not yet received the money that she was told she could expect.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Abraham Saad of Saad Dixon Law Offices in Huntington.
