WVU Hospital patient claims he received negligent neurological care

MORGANTOWN — A man alleges that he suffered neurological damages due to negligent medical care.

Jarret Friend filed a complaint in Monongalia Circuit Court against Bio-Medical Applications of West Virginia Inc. and Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that began on Oct. 31, 2017 when the plaintiff was admitted to West Virginia University Hospital. The plaintiff underwent surgery on Nov. 2, 2017 and underwent hemodialysis on Nov. 9, 2017. At a check up on Nov. 17, 2017, the plaintiff was found to have neurological dysfunction in his left hand due to the negligence of the defendant.

The defendant is accused of negligence and medical malpractice.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by William Frame of Wilson, Frame & Metheney in Morgantown.
